Supervolcano

Supervolcanoes are big enough to make the normal volcanoes look like harmless fountains. There are six known supervolcanoes: the Yellowstone, Long Valley, and Valles Caldera in the United States; Lake Toba, North Sumatra, Indonesia; Taupo Volcano, North Island, New Zealand; and Aira Caldera, Kagoshima Prefecture, Kyūshū, Japan.

A supervolcano is capable of producing a volcanic eruption with ejecta greater than 1,000 cubic kilometers (240 cubic miles). Comparing it to Mount Pinatubo, the biggest volcanic eruption in almost 100 years. Pinatubo erupted with ejecta of roughly 10 cubic kilometers and that's a LOT for a normal volcano.

Facebook's Death

Warning, don't read this if you wish to read something enlightning, original or new. Captain Obvious is here babbling senseless crap:

Facebook is going to die. Maybe not today, tomorrow nor a year later. Well to be honest, I don't know, but it is going to be interesting to see if FB evolves enough to stay as the number one social networking website.

The web as a whole is constantly evolving, people are constantly creating their revolutionary website ideas. Features that are now primarily available on facebook will be available on perhaps the regular google account, though greatly improved. Of course some competing site might bring a better whole package that draws everyone's attention. And if FB starts pushing people to use paid account, they definitely would lose users.

By late 2007 into 2008, Myspace was considered the leading social networking site, and consistently beat out main competitor Facebook in traffic. When Facebook launched new features in an effort to attract a variety of users, Myspace found itself in a continuing decline of membership. On April 19, 2008, Facebook overtook Myspace in the Alexa rankings. The site ranking of Myspace as of February 2011 was 56 as opposed to the number 2 position held by source

Why wouldn't it happen to Facebook also? FB is having a sweet ride right now, but will it be this way five years from now?

William James Sidis

William James Sidis is thought by many to be the smartest man in the known history.
He was born in New York in 1898 to Jewish Ukrainian immigrants. He already read New York Times when he was 18 months old!

He had already taught himself eight languages when he was eight years old and was also creating his own language called Vendergood. He enrolled at Harvard when he was 11 years old and became the youngest ever to have done that. He could have passed the tests easily even younger but the university had previously refused to take him in as they thought he was too young.



He died in 1944 of a cerebral hemorrhage, at the age of 46.
Abraham Sperling, director of New York City's Aptitude Testing Institute estimated Sidis's IQ to have been as high as 250-300 easily. His intelligence wasn't noticed to decline in adulthood.
